Girl keep it real!

Welcome to your path to honesty, love, pain, uncovering the lies and submitting to your truth. I was trying to figure out a topic for my first post and I thought, why am I here? I began to think about all the things that have led me on this journey that I now have to navigate as dramatic, stressful, chaotic, beautiful and exciting as it is. But guess what I realized, it's my truth!

So my first blog is to share with you a simple concept "Girl Keep it Real". I'm not talking about keeping it real with people. I'm talking about keeping it real with the inner you! The voice that you sometimes bury, the feelings that you often ignore and the whispering that you silence in an effort to make your own path and create your own destiny.

Girl keep it real. Keep it real with your insecurities, doubts, challenges, success, your secret thoughts, your pain, your hurt and all the other stuff that clutters your brain. The only way to navigate this path is for you to know your truth. I'm not talking about the truth that others have tried to impose on you, not the truth that your mother or grandmother told you, not even the half truths you share with those around you. The truth that you have settled on after life has taken you for a ride, the truth that God has been trying to speak to in those quiet moments.

My Truth #1: I'm a girl that's afraid

The strong girl that always seems to have it all together is afraid of what the future holds. Since we're being real, I can share that I have been afraid of my purpose, the challenges that come along with my calling, and I've been afraid that I may have missed out on some of Gods promises for my life. What are some of your fears?

Let me put it out there, we all have fears, and as much as we try to hide behind them, they still exist. Fear often times leads to anxiety in certain situations, it causes stress, doubt, and enhances those lies that we've sometimes told ourselves. Those lies are the foundation of your faith, how you trust, the risks you take, the opportunities that you go after and how you choose to love and live life. The number one lie that we tell ourselves is that we are in control of our own destiny. When we believe this lie, it will destroy every area of your life that is not aligned with your false perception of truth.

God's Truth says:"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" Ps 145:18

Let's be honest, fear is real and it can consume every area of your life. It creeps in when we experience grief, loss, challenges in our careers, and relationships. It causes you to stay present in past hurts, and failures instead of looking forward with hope and faith. However, God's truth comes with promises, expectation and hope. His word tells us that he is near to all who call on him in truth. So let me encourage you today; speak your truth then acknowledge your God.

I'm a girl that's afraid. God says he does not give us a spirit of fear; leave it there. Fear and faith cannot operate in the same space. Choose the path that you want to take. Take a leap of faith, take the position, start the business, build the ministry, start a family, buy the house, or walk away from the job. Whatever it is, stop allowing your truth to second guess your God. Speak your truth but acknowledge your God.

So I want to leave you with an exercise. Start your day with your Truth, your Purpose, and your Prayer. My truth is I have experienced fear, but I put my trust in God. My purpose is to share my journey through life as a inspiration to other women. The Journey is about operating in your faith, discovering who God has created you to become, and walking in your purpose. My Prayer today is that God replace my fear with faith, my doubt with belief and fill my calling with anointing.

Thank you for stopping by, share your journey with us and leave a comment below. Share your truth, purpose, and prayer. Let's grow together!
